For the five different dealerships, Lane Engineers provided structural engineering services for the architect from the design development phase through construction. These services included completion of calculations and construction drawings; coordination of the work done by the premanufactured elements; shepherding of structural documents through the local building department for approval; assistance to the architect and the owner during the bidding phase; and assistance to the architect, owner, and contractor during the construction phase (including regular site visits). The facilities consisted of a variety of different types of materials including: steel and concrete framing, precast concrete beams, masonry and wood construction, pre-manufactured wood joists. The lateral systems included wood and masonry shearwalls and steel moment-resisting frames.
