About Lane Engineers

Our APPROACH • our staff

The Lane Approach

You don’t stay in business as long as we have without having sound business practices. We would rather focus on our Clients and their needs instead of focusing on our achievements. We may be engineers and surveyors, but our goal is to make your job easier and to help you succeed. The following is what we call “The Lane Approach” to projects:

HOW WE TREAT YOU

Project Management

Your Project is very important to us

We are looking to establish long business relationships, so we always put 100% effort into every project no matter its size.

Communication is vital to making your project a success

We will listen to your project goals to understand your needs and expectations. In turn, we will communicate our design ideas to meet these goals as well as keeping you well-informed throughout the life of the project.

You will receive personalized service

Our licensed professionals are involved intimately with the project and will tactfully deal and coordinate with public agencies and other consultants to produce the highest quality and most cost-effective design possible.

You will receive a quality set of construction documents

Our construction documents are very detail-oriented to minimized change orders because it’s always easier to address the issue in the design phase than during construction.

HOW WE TREAT ourselves

Our Engineers

We maintain a highly dedicated and well-trained staff

We have over 180 years of combined experience and have amassed technical expertise in many engineering arenas.

We have a very loyal staff and a high retention rate

We take care of our employees so that in turn, they will take care of you and your project

We are human too and make mistakes

Sometimes for whatever reason things go wrong on a project and when we make a mistake, we don’t run away or shift blame for it. We own up to it, look for a solution and ultimately learn from it to keep it from happening again.

HOW WE TREAT others

Our Community

We pride ourselves in our reputation

By adhering to the highest standards of ethical behavior, we are a company known for engineering and surveying excellence and have earned the respect of clients, municipalities, developers and contractors alike.

We are committed to our community

Our principals have been in business within this community since the 1970s. Our staff is actively involved in our community through service clubs, youth sports, church organizations, and public boards.

Company Leadership.

At Lane Engineers, it’s our team that makes the difference. All of our staff is credentialed, and together they have over 180 years of combined experience.

Benjamin Mullins, P.L.S.

Secretary

Full Bio

Ben began his career with Lane Engineers, Inc. as a part-time employee in June 2007 as he continued to work towards his Bachelor of Science degree in Geomatics Engineering from California State University, Fresno. Upon his graduation, he became a full-time employee in July of 2010. Since then, Ben has developed his skills while sharing time between the office and field.

Ben became a licensed surveyor in early 2015, and as an Associate Land Surveyor, Ben is accountable for a wide variety of office and field assignments. He routinely has the opportunity to work on a project as a field surveyor, and quickly turn around the office work as well. Having a healthy balance of field and office surveying has provided him with the experience to take any project from the research phase to submittal. Ben’s versatility allows him to have a unique perspective on projects, which increases productivity and efficiency.

Ben also understands the necessity of staying on top of constantly evolving field and office procedures and is committed to learning new and efficient methods to improve productivity. In recent years, he has helped implement the use of drones for aerial mapping and 3D laser scanning for 3D modeling. These cutting-edge technologies have broadened the realm of possibilities when seeking to resolve complex issues. Ben will take over management of the Surveying Department in January 2019, upon Pat Teter’s retirement.
