New COS Tulare Campus Opens
Lane Engineers is pleased to have provided all the structural engineering for the new COS Tulare Campus. This is a project we will always be proud to be associated with.
Phase 1 consisted of four main buildings. The two main classroom buildings consisted of steel special moment resisting frames with concrete decks. The elevated walkway connecting the two main buildings was constructed using concrete special moment resisting frames. The third building is a welding training facility utilizing steel moment resisting frames as part of its main structure. The last building is the equipment building with concrete masonry walls and steel roof framing members. Phase 3 is the Farm and Ornamental Horticulture Buildings. This was a unique project in getting to design an entire farm for many different types of animals along with a state-of-the-art nursery. There were 19 different buildings we designed including the multi-species show facility, beef barn, swine barn, small animal lab, soil mixing building, and many others. Most buildings were designed with steel moment resisting frames or concrete masonry shearwalls.
